Net Present Value (NPV)
Net Present Value (NPV) is a fundamental financial metric used to assess the profitability of an investment or project. It represents the difference between the present value of expected future cash inflows and the present value of anticipated cash outflows over a specific period. By discounting future cash flows to their current value, NPV accounts for the time value of money, acknowledging that a dollar today is worth more than a dollar in the future.
