Net Assets
The total assets of an entity minus its total liabilities. In other words, net assets are all the things or shares that a company owns, minus what it owes to other organizations or people. The amount of net assets exactly matches the stockholders' equity of a business. For example, if a company claims $11 million in assets and $6 million in liabilities on a balance sheet, the net assets would be $11,000,000 - $6,000,000 = $5,000,000 in net assets.
Net assets are also referred to as book value or shareholders' equity.
